What is Stories Cafe?
An inspiring haven for those who long for more depth, meaning, and beauty in their lives.
Stories Café is a sanctuary for those who long for more depth, meaning, and beauty in their lives. It is a curated library café created for lovers of literature, film, archetypes, travel, and the art of living deliberately.
At the heart of Stories Café is my love of stories: the ones we were told as children, the books, films, and tv series that stay with us - as well as the narratives we live by (often without being conscious of this), and the ones we create as we move through the world.
In an overwhelming world that rushes past, Stories Café is an invitation to pause: to sit down for a few minutes with my letters, reflections, or recordings and let meaning unfold at a gentler pace.
Each piece I post is designed to support a more thoughtful, attentive rhythm of life.

A bit about me
I’m Annette Wernblad, M.A. — educator, author, and lifelong flâneuse.
Since I taught myself to read while still in nursery school, I have been fascinated by the deeper meanings within the stories we love. This passion has shaped every part of my life. I have spent decades teaching and writing about literature, film, psychology, and culture at university level, and I’ve published two internationally recognised books.
Stories Café is the culmination of that work: slow, careful reading and thinking, shared in a quieter, more intimate form. This is a place to slow down, reflect, and return to what truly matters; one story at a time. I am so thrilled to welcome you here.
